On Saturday, June 21, the Illinois State Rifle Association will be hosting an NRA Day at the ISRA range near Kankakee, IL. Between 1,200 and 1,500 guests are expected.
An NRA Day is designed to allow those attending to get a snapshot of the 178 programs offered by the Association with their families and fellow shooting enthusiasts. NRA Day begins at 10:00 AM and will run until 4:00 PM.
NRA Board Member Robert Viden created NRA Day as a way for clubs to open their doors to the community and to celebrate the Second Amendment. Local gun clubs can hold NRA Day events year round to give people of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to learn, experience, share, and grow an appreciation of recreational shooting. NRA Day participants are able to discover all of the fun and excitement that the world of shooting has to offer while exploring new activities and possibilities in a controlled setting.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive firearm safety instruction, and then shoot various pistols, shotguns, rifles, air guns, and archery.
